Jenny Saville
2076 C. del Tentor Venezia
28 March - 22 November 2026
Museo di Ca' Pesaro
In the year of the Venice Biennale Arte, the International Gallery of Ca’ Pesaro returns its focus to contemporary voices with an exceptional exhibition dedicated to one of the most important painters of our time, Jenny Saville. This is the first major presentation of Saville’s work in Venice and aims to document the development of her practice, tracing her career from her early beginnings in the 1990s to the present day. The exhibition features around thirty paintings, including many masterpieces that have defined her output over recent decades. Deeply rooted in the history of painting, Saville’s practice finds a powerful setting at Ca’ Pesaro, where her monumental canvases enter into dialogue with the great painters of the past active in Venice, creating a unique encounter between contemporary painting and the city’s artistic heritage. Her engagement with historical masters—particularly Italian painters—highlights the strong and lasting connection she has with the Venetian school. The final gallery presents a new cycle of works created as a tribute to Venice for Ca’ Pesaro. The exhibition thus becomes a profound celebration of Saville’s devotion to painting and an intimate yet monumental homage to the history of Venice as a living center of cultural innovation.
