Alps. Architecture. South Tyrol
920 Fondamenta Zattere Ai Gesuati Venezia
May 10 – November 23, 2025
Palazzo Cavanis
Set against the backdrop of the Venice Architecture Biennale, Alps. Architecture. South Tyrol offers a compelling investigation into the architectural identity of one of Europe’s most fascinating border regions. Selected by an international jury, the projects on display form a wide-ranging and critical inventory that charts the evolution of South Tyrolean architecture in dialogue with its Alpine surroundings.
At the heart of the exhibition lies a provocative question: does a South Tyrolean architecture truly exist—and if so, what defines it? Through more than 40 contributions from leading studios such as MoDusArchitects, Pedevilla Architects, NOA, Peter Pichler Architecture, bergmeisterwolf, Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli, and many others, the show navigates themes of identity, territory, material experimentation, and the delicate balance between tradition and innovation.
Curated by Filippo Bricolo, the exhibition invites visitors to rethink the contemporary Alpine landscape—not as a static backdrop, but as a living, shaping force for architecture.
