Jessica Loughlin: Paesaggi e suggestioni australiane
2158 Corte Barozzi Venezia
September 16 - November 22, 2025
Caterina Tognon presents Landscapes & Australian Impressions, a solo exhibition by Jessica Loughlin (Melbourne, 1975), one of Australia’s most singular voices in contemporary glass. With a language of restraint and precision, Loughlin creates works that are less objects than experiences—quiet meditations shaped in light and opacity.
Drawing from the boundless stillness of Australia’s interior landscapes, her minimalist compositions invite viewers into spaces of suspension and silence. Through pale surfaces and subtle gradations, glass becomes a threshold between presence and absence, material and atmosphere.
Loughlin’s practice orbits the essential: light, time, space. Her works don’t depict landscapes—they breathe them. Each piece is a distillation of perception, a slow unfolding of emptiness as form. In the luminous context of Ca’ Nova, these fragile horizons open a dialogue between the antipodean vastness and Venetian intimacy, between geography and reverie.
