unEarthed / Second Nature / PolliNATION is a multidisciplinary exhibition from VT Honors College that reimagines architecture as a vital mediator between humanity and the natural world.
Divided into three thematic chapters—unEarthed, Second Nature, and PolliNATION—the exhibition probes regenerative design, interspecies collaboration, and resilient ecosystems. Drawing inspiration from a historic image of Venetian beekeepers, unEarthed illuminates hidden networks of cooperation, unveiling unseen processes and new ways of learning from the environment
At its core, the Second Nature / PolliNATION pavilion—conceived by a diverse group of students—responds to Venice’s urgent climate realities through a fusion of ephemeral and multispecies architecture. This immersive installation invites visitors into a living dialogue where nature and culture coexist, adapt, and thrive together.
Set within the lush garden of Giardini della Marinaressa, the pavilion becomes a hub for community engagement, hosting public programs such as a roundtable discussion led by renowned critic Aaron Betsky.
