NON-Belief: Taiwan Intelligens of Precarity explores the fragile interplay between belief and skepticism in our trust in technology, efficiency, and systems of control. Inspired by Robert Smithson’s concept of “non-sites” and aligned with the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale theme, the exhibition presents 17 research-based investigations and 12 architectural models that examine Taiwan’s complex identity as both a “technological” and an “ecological” island.

Framed around the themes of Efficiency, Technology, and Control, the exhibition challenges dominant narratives of progress and hyper-development. Instead, it proposes alternative architectural visions rooted in resilience, critical awareness, and cultural specificity.

Visitors encounter a central installation composed of an island-like platform, ethereal paper landscapes, and votive lamps crafted from printed circuit boards—an evocative fusion of the spiritual and the digital that reflects Taiwan’s layered material and symbolic geographies.

NON-Belief reimagines architecture not as a passive container of systems, but as a dynamic site of resistance, reflection, and potential transformation.
