Keep Cool!
2258 Calle Regina Venezia
May 10 – November 23, 2025
Salone Verde art & social club
Keep Cool! is an urgent and imaginative exploration of how art and architecture can respond to the realities of climate change—specifically, the challenge of thermal adaptation in the built environment. Hosted at the Salone Verde art & social club, in the heart of Venice’s fragile urban landscape, the exhibition unfolds as a laboratory of ideas, materials, and visions for a more sustainable future.
Initiated by a transdisciplinary collective of students and professors from three German institutions—University of Stuttgart, HFT Stuttgart, and DIT Deggendorf—the project blurs the lines between academic research and creative expression. Through site-specific installations, experimental use of renewable materials, and a return to local building techniques, Keep Cool! proposes design as a shared, intergenerational act of resistance and adaptation.
The exhibition is enriched by works from Berlin-based artist Antje Schiffers and Cologne composer Marc Vogler, whose contributions expand the dialogue across sensory and disciplinary boundaries. Together, their practices weave architecture, sound, and social narrative into an immersive and reflective experience.
Curated by Era Merkuri (alias heramarte, Karlsruhe), Keep Cool! is both a call to action and a space for critical inquiry—a collective effort to reimagine how we live, build, and endure in a warming world.
